About Us:

Piasa Martial Arts was founded by Edward "Sonny" Hatten in historic Alton, Illinois over 40 years ago. Piasa is known for their community outreach, demonstrations, competition, and self-defense seminars. Sonny, along with his wife Suzanne, have always focused on teaching traditional martial arts to families in the Riverbend Area.

Students at Piasa are aged four to adult and many families take classes together

Currently, Piasa Martial Arts continues the long tradition of teaching traditional TaeKwonDo to families in the Riverbend. Piasa Martial Arts focuses on teaching discipline and respect, using innovative teaching techniques. The curriculum focuses on the art and combat of TaeKwonDo in a structured environment. Piasa Martial Arts is a black belt certification school, which means that the curriculum is set up for students to work to achieve a school level black belt by attending at least two classes per week with practice time outside of the facility.

Piasa Martial Arts utilizes Christian faith to teach students
